Cruel and Unusual Punishment...

Amendment VIII of the Constitution: Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishment inflicted.

As expected, I will speak of cruel and unusual punishment, mainly the death penalty...
I am as excited as the next person when I hear about somebody that is to fry or get poisoned to death for crimes for which they have been convicted. My attention is piqued and I follow those rare occurrences with great interest. I find it quite interesting that the United States can legally commit such a heinous act of murder. I liken it to a father telling his child "do what I say, not what I do". The principles wreak of hypocrisy. What is more cruel than murder? Unusual, what is more unusual to the convicted than being murdered, it only can happen once in a lifetime. There is nothing more unusual! And with preemptive strikes and about a hundred thousand innocent people killed by the actions of this government, what right do they have saying that when a person takes a life that they deserve death themselves. If the government was held by the same standards then we would have to euthanize this government. They should consider acting more like a parent when dealing with criminals. Cruel punishment would be that which a mother or father (of sound mind) could not bring themselves to inflict upon their children.

Omniscient Company...

I've said before that misery loves company. Well it also can't help but repulse and drive such company away. So here is a little effort to drive away the ever-present company... the All Mighty's. There is an obvious problem with this attempt. God differs from one religion to the next and what may repulse one group doesn't have the same effect on another. So since I was raised Catholic, going to church every Sunday, serving mass as an alter boy and praying the rosary; I find it only fitting to repulse those that share a similar faith background.

First, let me begin by saying that every mass is a slap in Jesus' face. Let me explain. During every mass, right before receiving the Eucharist, the congregation recites the prayer commonly known as the Our Father. This prayer is located in the book of Matthew, chapter 6, verses 9 through 13. People then walk like zombies up towards the alter stick out their tongues or hands and receive a nicely compressed, hypoallergenic slice of bread. So what the fuck is wrong with that? People who ask that question haven't read the bible or at least don't have a fucking clue as to the teachings of Christ. People should read the previous 4 verses. I will be a kind soul and include them here.

5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name...

Does anyone get the joke yet? "Use not vain repetitions" "when thou prayest, enter into thy closet" Doesn't the whole church/prayer thing seem a little conspicuous? Its more than bad taste, it is in clear violation of what Jesus preached. But what about the church? What about the church. Lets read over Matthew 16, verses 18 and 19...

18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Well, that's quite some power entrusted in Peter's hands. Whatever he binds on earth will be bound in heaven. Whatever is written in the bible by man is imposed upon the kingdom of god. Those two verses are the key stones to the catholic church, without them and the Edict of Milan, there would be no church and people would probably still be praying in their closets. Unfortunately the divine right of Peter, was passed on to predecessors, and we have hundreds of millions of people believing in the word of man, rather than that of god. So I find entertainment in the secret joke pulled by the catholic church. They proclaim that you can't enter the kingdom of god unless you accept his son. Well that doesn't stop them from slapping him in the face every Sunday. Hypocrites all of them. This is really only the tip of the iceberg, but I'll leave it at that for now. I don't want to encourage those certain religious nutbags to kill in the name of god (what a fucked up and twisted idea right).

Ellipsis...

I feel as though I am entering into the ellipsis of my life, where all the events and accomplishments can be summed up in three tiny dots. My will power has greatly diminished as has my ambition. I am no longer that teenager with lofty dreams of making a positive difference, bringing more beauty into this shithole, or even making a mark. I have long feared the moment when I give up hope and just sink back into this filthy slime called reality, but now that its here I really can't muster the strength to fight it. I did once enjoy having the future permeate my thoughts. Imagining what I could do to raise the bar for mankind, how I could effect people en masse for the goal of good, or what it would take to open people's eyes. But mankind is digressing, people hate to be effected and their eyes tend, more often than not, to be sewn shut. Besides that, what the fuck difference is it going to make if people suddenly desire to change the world for the better. Desire for good is powerless. It is the desire for possession that is the force behind the momentum of this world. I've known that for quite some time, and I tried to figure a way to make that greed work for good. But that happens either when its too late or at the end of a gun barrel. Being a pacifist, I'll have to settle for too late... So what happens next. War? Slavery? Revolution? Anarchy? Genocide? I really don't care anymore. Life at the end of a rope is still life and doesn't differ much than how it is now. So I go about filling my time with mindless card games, meaningless work, and of course writing mindless drivel so that I can depress someone else, because misery loves company...
